History

The Croatian Republic Club was established on the March 9th, 1925, as a branch of the Croatian Peasant party. According to our Articles of incorporatio, Club's Mission statement is:

"To introduce among the people of Croatia that feeling of brotherhood and love which will cement them together as a mighty power, whose influence for good will be felt throughout the land, and to hand down to our posterity, as an all sufficient blessing, in aiding and guiding them to prosperity, and especially in receiving that recognition from other nations."

From the beginning, the Croatian Republic Club has promoted the ideas of immortal brothers Stjepan and Antun Radiæ, working together in bipartisan unity towards the common goal of creating an independent Croatia. On May 4, 1936, the Croatian Women's Club joined the Croatian Republic Club. By working together they organized many fundraising events, such as The Men of the Year awards. Award was given in honor of local Croatian and internationally known people. We have shown respect and gratitude to people who have worked for and helped the Croatian cause.

Since the time Dr. Franjo Tuðman first visited USA in 1987, we supported his leadership. In the new democratic Croatian government's time of need, we helped by sending substantial monetary donations. In recent history times have changed, but our support for Croatia and the Croatian people remain. We help many Croatian children in need through worthwhile programs such as CFU and The Dora Foundation. Croatian Republic Club is not affiliated with any particular political party and it is striving for new members, who are willing to cherish, preserve and support our Croatian heritage in United States of America.
